I went to the eye doctor yesterday and guess what she told me....that I'm cross-eyed! I couldn't believe it, but when she explained to me why she said that, I started to believe that I am slightly cross-eyed. My eyes apparently work independant of each other and when she did a few tests, my eyes were crossing. It kind of threw me for a loop!

Anywho...

Some minor changes to the site

A few weeks back Krista voiced some concerns over what appeared to be random anonymous people leaving comments on our blog - she was afraid that this person(s) would be able to search through our archives and find out personal information, etc. I just saw another comment from the other day appear on our site.

There is a prevalance of what is known as spam commenting - which is what we are being hit with every so often. This is not a person per se, but a computer program which is set to seek out sites with comment capabilities and leave vague messages that say something like "your site is great! please check out my site (www.randomwebsite.com), i think you'll find it interesting, etc..."

This spam is meant to help drive traffic to websites that when visited, can send spyware to your computer and monitor your activities. Blogger has a new function to help circumvent that, you may have seen it used on other sites - it's word verification. You type whatever verification word that appears when you go to leave a comment and this assures that it is a human being leaving a message, and not a spam program.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know in case you had noticed and were wondering about the random comments...

New look for fall

Hi All -

As you have probably noticed, the blog has a new look for fall....if this is universally hated, I can change it back, but I think it's fun to switch it up a bit everyonce in awhile...

Jean, sorry I missed your call the other day - is there a good time to call you back?

Rebecca - how is everything going - is your mom all settled in Milwaukee yet? How are you feeling? Is the back/neck pain getting any better/worse?

Krista - thanks for your thoughts about wedding stuff! I agree, Duluth would be beautiful! Unfortunately, it would be quite a trek for a fair amount of the out of town guests that would be coming and I am thinking that somewhere in the Minneapolis/St. Paul location would be easier to deal with.

I am working like a fiend right now at work - haven't been able to take a lunch break for weeks now and it seems never ending. I like the new responsibilities that I am getting at work but I am trying very hard to not let the stress show - I feel as if I am being watched right now to see how I handle a lot of these new tasks.

Other than work crapola, home life is fine, my niece Sophia just got her two bottom teeth in and she now tries to sing along to Old MacDonald when my sister sings it to her. It sounds a lot like "Ayiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiaaaaeeeeeiaaaaah!" She is getting so cute, I will have to scan in some recent pictures to post.
