Job update:
So here's the situation, the company i was supposed to go in for a second interview with cancelled the interview because of some emergency situation (not sure what that was) and because of that had to reschedule. They asked that I come in the following morning and I told them that I couldn't do that sort of thing, I had to give more notice than that when getting time off from my work. So they said they'd get back to me and "make something work" and I have yet to hear from them. Seems to me to be a bad sign. I had another interview on Friday with a startup company and that didn't go over so well, I knew the minute I stepped in the door that it was not the place for me, full of really young guys, got a lot of the up and down looks from them and the work they produced was uninspiring and not worth my time.
Which all leads me to my current situation, I had a meeting with my new boss, she's ex-president of the alumni association of the art institute (i know, what luck, right??) and she told me she wants to give me more responsibilities and a big salary jump up. I told her what my target salary range was and she laughed and told me to aim higher. So I think I'm going to stay, she seems to be looking out for me and although I am not sure what the new position will entail exactly at this point, I think I'll be fine with it. She said my "Minnesota nice" attitude was something she thought was a good asset to have when working around here. Thank god for that!
