Thank God for short weeks
I'm at work right now, wishing it was time to go home. What started off as an average day has now turned into the "Day that Sucks." First, we found out that a coworker's sister had died (brought down everyone's mood), then my office ordered some food for lunch today and while half of them were gone to go pick it up, my boss starts talking to me and my coworker about our work on the website. I think he meant to say something to us along the lines of " You both do great work, I think we need to change things up a bit to get us excited again about what we do, let's all brainstorm and think of things we can do to make our jobs better/more eficient/more interesting...etc." Instead it came out more like "Do you both really think that you are working at 100% capacity? Because we need to do something more, work harder and move beyond what we're doing right now because you're stagnant. Oh, and there are a bunch of bad links on the website, and I'm focusing on that." Ally, my coworker, who has a lot emotionally invested in her work is really upset, I on the other hand don't think anything will happen, but I just feel drained. And I'm stuck here today redoing a human resources website. Bleh. I wish I was successfully self employed. Or more motivated to get a graduate degree.
